Online SHOPPING!

I made a list of items that I wanted to purchase yesterday:

frownies--I've purchased frownies before, but I didn't use them. Since I'm starting to get a wrinkle on my forehead, I think I will start using these every night.

eye cream--I ran out of eye cream about a month ago, and I haven't replaced it.

sunscreen--I used all of my sunscreen on my hiking trips. I needed at least SPF30. I wanted to buy a lotion because the spray sunscreen that I purchased before ran out.

toner--I wanted something gentle to remove the remnants of my make-up.

night cream--I'm almost out of my Boots night cream. I'm going to look for something new because I didn't really like the cream.

foundation--I have been using a sample of bare minerals that I received during my last trip to Sephora. I think I'm going to stick to my Prescriptives foundation.

SPF powder--I LOVE this product! My current brush/powder is almost gone. I usually burn my forehead in the summer. Since I've been using this product, I haven't burned my forehead! It's an easy way to reapply sunscreen without messing up my make-up.

mascara--I'm currently using Benefit's BadGal, which I love. However, I don't want to spend $20 on mascara every three months, so I'm going to try a drugstore brand.

I decided to purchase a few items on drugstore.com because I could get $10 off a $50 order. I ordered

CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara ($5.88)

Peter Thomas Roth SPF 30 powder ($30)

Phytomer Rosee Visage ($27.50) This is the best product ever! It's a make-up remover and toner. It's the perfect lazy girl product! Plus, it's really gentle. I used to purchase it when I would visit the spa (during my less frugal days).

SPF 30 sunblock ($8.99) I chose a sport sunscreen to stay on during my bike rides and hikes.

Frownies Facial Pads (for use on forehead)($14.99) I'm going to use them this time!

I spent $77.36 and ordered 3 free samples! I didn't need all of these products, but I think I'm going to do a facial at home instead of going to a spa.

SavingDiva's Make-Up

I was motivated by FB's post about her make-up bag. As a product-a-holic, I thought my make-up would cover my bathroom floor. However, I was surprised to see that the majority of my make-up is from a splurge at the MAC counter on an evening eye look (5 eye products).

The majority of my work is done with brushes. I have (from right to left) a blush brush, a foundation brush (fantastic for applying a thin coat), an eyeshadow brush for smaller areas, a lip brush (don't use it very much), an eyeshadow brush for the base color, and another brush I use to line my eyes with eyeshadow.

I also have three eye pencils and a pencil sharpener (top of the photo, silver and black). I have a brown Estee Lauder pencil, a black Sephora liner, and a black Aveda liner (super smudgeable). Next to my eye liners is the BadGal mascara that I've been using. I LOVE IT!

I also have a lot of eyeshadow. I love the MAC eye primer (black top) alone or under eyeshadow. Next to the base is the purple Victoria's Secret eyeshadow that I picked up at the Semi-Annual Sale for under $2 (mistake color). The other four eye shadows are from MAC. I can create a really sexy smoky eye look for evening events (don't use it very much, or at all).

For my face, I use prescriptives foundation as a concealer and use the Peter Thomas Roth Translucent powder to keep my skin from being extremely shiny (and provide SPF). I recently ran out of Nars Orgasm blush, so I'm using Dallas by Benefit. I like the color (bronzer & blush in one), but I think I'll switch back to just a blush after I finish this off (in a year or so).

For my lips, I use Chapstick with SPF 30 under Prescriptives lipgloss (the best stuff ever).

The beauty products I use are constantly changing, but this is my make-up collection right now. I am actually surprised by how little I own. I do need to purchase a bit more foundation (or a concealer) and a new tube of mascara (probably just something from the drugstore).

Updating my Make-Up Bag

Warning: This post is not personal finance related.
As most of my readers know, I'm a beauty junkie. I've cut down on my product purchases, but I'm always acquiring new items. I recently received a Philospophy lip gloss (pictured on the left), and I'm in love. The lip balm looks shiny, but it's sticky (feels like a lip balm). There is a slighty color, kinda like a stain (I'm using the red). Kiss me is also extremely hydrating! The only con is that it doesn't offer any sun protection.

I've also abandoned my Nars blush (in Orgasm) for Benefit's bronzer-blush combo product, Dallas. It's the perfect color for summer. I will admit that I use my own blush brush (their little brush is cute, but useless) to apply the product. Since I'm very fair, I have to be careful not to apply to much. However, if I apply self-tanner, Dallas also looks great! While I like the color of Orgasm, the shimmer (almost glitter like) was a little bit too much for day.

I'm also digging my new Benefit mascara, BADgal. Much like DiorShow, the product has an extremely fat wand that puts a lot of product on your lashes without clumping. The mascara does a great job of staying put throughout the day (I rub my eyes a lot), but comes off with my make-up remover (currently using a Neutrogena product).

My latest beauty obsession is free!?!?!

After a fantastic shopping trip to the Lush store, I decided to check out the Lush website. In the Fanzine, there is a detailed article about how to give yourself a Lush facial massage (check out page 5). I've been using this technique to put on my moisturizer before bed. I printed out the page and taped it to my bathroom mirror.

Giving myself a Lush facial massage feels fantastic and it helps me relax before bed. I've also noticed that my skin isn't as pink in the morning. I, former product whore Saving Diva, am obsessed with a "technique" instead of a product. It has become a key part of my bedtime ritual.

I recommend that all of my product loving readers try this facial massage. Do you like it? Do you have something better? Let me know what you think!
